Wondering About Sam
I wonder when she will cease killing every
piece of technology that she touches.
I wonder if she will come to know her
parents as people.
I wonder when her dreams will come
true.
I wonder if she will ever quit
fighting with her curls.
I wonder if she will get a little
less messy as an adult.
I wonder when and if she will have
children of her own (no hurry).
I wonder what her happiest memories
are from when she was little.
I wonder what she thinks of me.
I wonder what she thinks of herself.
I really like how you did this I wonder post. They are all great questions. My favorite "I wonder what her happiest memories are from when she was little." Wouldn't it be wonderful to know this now?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm going to use this idea for our writer's notebooks. I like how all of your wonderings focused on a single subject. I think I have to try that for myself!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to check out Stacy's wonder list. The link to her blog is in my post. Stacy's list is hilarious!
DeleteTwo of you look beautiful together.
ReplyDeleteI wonder many of the same wonders about my almost 17 year old. Then I wonder do I really want to know what she thinks of me.
Ha ha, Terje, I was thinking the same thing. Do I really want to know what she thinks of me? Maybe yes, maybe not.
DeleteSuch a lovely picture! I've been doing some wondering as well - they grow up into such interesting people, don't they?
ReplyDeleteFun wonders! I hope you are able to see all of your wonders turn into happy endings! :-)
ReplyDeleteA list of wonderings...so perfect. I love to wonder. I love even more when these wonderings drive my writing life.
ReplyDeleteRuthh
Love this list too! So much to wonder about . . . you and your daughter are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo my daughter is 10 years older than yours - and I now know the answers to the first half of your "I wonders." (My daughter currently thinks I am a saint and says wonderful things to me all the time now. And since she is paying for all her own stuff - her skills in taking care of said stuff have vastly improved.) But I would like to know the answers to the other half.
ReplyDeleteps - its a kick to see your current self next to your blog photo.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I was smiling a little thinking about how even though I know it is an older picture, that is the way I picture you whenever I see a comment from you on my blog.
DeleteI love your I Wonder list. I was thinking that it is kind of fun that your daughter is old enough that she can read and would be able to respond, the post prompting a dialogue. I bet it is interesting for her to think about what you wonder about her.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to clicking the link to see the post that inspired you.
