I write at the dining room table. In the past, it was the area for everyone to dump book bags and mail. Only during holidays was it is used for its intended purpose. Over the course of the last five weeks, I have taken over the entire dining room table and the hutch is now a handy bookshelf. Yesterday, I began utilizing one of the pictures hanging on the wall as place to hold my big ideas. After I dusted it, my sticky notes stayed stuck to the glass quite nicely. I never really liked that picture anyway. Do you have a writing place?
I love the thought of post-its all over a picture hanging on a wall. My writing place is on a loveseat in our living room with laptop on my lap as it was intended.
ReplyDeleteI am with Wanda on my writing place, sofa in hearth room and laptop. In the morning coffee is by my side. In the afternoon, diet cherry Dr. Pepper replaces the coffee.
ReplyDeleteI really thought about this. I've never been able to write in one place - many a time I've set up the perfect spot only to discover that I could not write there! It must be my restless nature - I need to be on the move, even when writing. Your spot, though, sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteI like your stick note idea.
ReplyDeleteI need to write by hand first, so I settle mostly into a comfy chair, sometimes in a loft that we have, sometimes by a fire if it's cold out. I also write with my students when we meet. There's something nice about many pencils scratching on paper, describing the important parts of lives.
ReplyDeleteI am in a constant battle to keep the dining room table neat. I never win. As soon as it gets cleaned up it gets re-purposed for something else.
ReplyDeleteWonderful writing---
ReplyDeleteI write everywhere- in bed, curled up on the couch, at the kitchen table, in the office, in the car. I don't really have a place that is my favourite- as long as I have my notebook and pen I can write anywhere.
I have a similarly attired table in my kitchen. Including the cat.
ReplyDeleteI will write anywhere that's quiet. My poor husband knows that he can't talk or whistle when I'm writing ANYTHING. I cannot listen to both of us.
