NaNoWriMo Update: Done (sort of)

Done.
13 chapters.
142 pages.
50,144 words.

I am not going to think about the reworking, rewriting, revising just yet. I probably won’t even look at it again for another month.  I learned a ton about my writing process and how the people I live with view my writing. At least I think I did. I just need to step away from the whole thing for a time to gain some perspective.

  1. Congratulations on this great accomplishment! You should be so proud of yourself! I can imagine that this was a huge learning experience as a writer. Maybe I will sign up next year... :)

  3. WOW--I;m impressed with this. I didn't even get close. But as you did, I learned a lot about my process and others. I think just writing every day helps us understand what our students go through. Congratulations Diane. I'm proud of you!

  4. Sweetness! I've never been brave enough to attempt. Last year I came close, dipping my feet into the edge of the waters, but realized I was in a different place as a writer. I hope you are celebrating this accomplishment. Totally cool!
    Congrats,

  5. Wow! Congratulations! I got as far as signing up. Then I realized I needed an idea - and nothing came. Maybe I'll try again next time, or just try on my own. But good for you!!! What an achievement!

  8. Wow, amazing job! I admire you sooo much for taking this on, and I'm even more impressed that you finished! Look at you! You're a "real" author of a whole novel! Enjoy your accomplishment and take a well-deserved break! (Then be sure to reflect on everything you learned before you forget it all.) :-)

  9. Congratulations! What an accomplishment! I started NaNoWriMo with full steam but life got in the way. Can't wait to try again next year. And I think taking time away from it and then revisiting is an excellent idea.

  13. Thanks for your thoughtful comment! I was proud when you said TBDBITL is amazing! I was a member for 5 years and my husband was a member too. We're still active in the alumni band!

  14. I had a tough time participating in SOL's March challenge - my bursitis became impossible after a month of spending more evening time in a chair - I can't imagine what would have happened if I'd participated in NaNoMo.
